Emily Nemens Unveils Cover for New Novel Clutch, Coming in 2026

Author Emily Nemens, best known for her debut The Cactus League (2020), has revealed the cover of her upcoming novel Clutch. The book will be published by Tin House, an imprint of Zando, on February 3, 2026.

Clutch follows the lives of five college friends who, two decades later, are spread across the country and facing very different challenges. Among them are a political strategist in Texas, a daughter juggling IVF and family caregiving in California, a New Yorker caught between courtroom battles and a crumbling home life, a novelist trying to reconnect with her father, and a woman whose marriage is strained by addiction.

At its heart, Nemens describes the novel as “an ode to friendship”—capturing the joys, strains, and complexities of bonds that endure over time. The striking cover design, featuring Wayne Thiebaud’s Supine Woman, reflects the emotional landscape of the characters.

With themes of loyalty, loss, and resilience, Clutch promises to be a rich and heartfelt exploration of how friendships evolve through life’s challenges. The novel is already available for preorder wherever books are sold.
